Why was I asked for my identity card?
The shop in which you make your purchases uses solutions developed by Freedelity SA in order to collect and update your personal data, and to facilitate your identification during your purchases.
Presenting your identity card means you don't have to fill in a paper registration form by hand. This method saves time, improves data accuracy (no typing errors) and makes it easier to update your information, particularly in the event of a change of address.
It contributes to offering more personalized services while ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations on the protection of personal data.
Does the use of my identity card comply with regulations?
[Yes, the use of ID cards complies with current regulations[/b]
The law of July 19, 1991 on population registers, identity cards, foreigners' cards and residence permits the use of identity cards only with the free, specific and informed consent of the identity card holder. In addition, this law requires that an alternative be offered to the person concerned if he or she does not wish to use his or her identity card.
You therefore have the choice: you can fill in a registration form manually or identify yourself in another way, for example :
- on the basis of your first and last name and date of birth at each partner store
- or via the MyFreedelity application.
For more information on these alternatives, see the "Do I have to use my ID card?" section of this FAQ.
In addition, the use of the ID card by partner merchants complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This regulation stipulates that data may only be processed with the consent of the data subject. The collection and use of data is limited to strictly necessary information and to specific purposes, such as identification, the recording of consents and the generation of contracts.
In addition to these legal provisions, the French Data Protection Authority has issued recommendations governing the use of ID cards, which are rigorously followed by Freedelity's partner merchants.
Do I have to use my ID card?
No. The use of an ID card is not mandatory.
Each partner brand offers alternative identification or data-sharing solutions.
However, its use is recommended, as it allows rapid identification, without risk of confusion, and guarantees the reliability and updating of your identification and contact data.
Who is responsible for processing my personal data?

- the merchant(s) to whom you have entrusted your data, and

How do you keep my personal data up to date?
The identification and contact data collected via partner merchants are centralized in a repository managed by Freedelity.
Each interaction (card identification, merchant update, correction) triggers an automatic validation and propagation of the corrected data to all merchants concerned.
This mechanism allows us to maintain accurate and up-to-date information for all the players you have entrusted us with.
If you have a MyFreedelity profile, your e-mail address gives you access to a secure area where :
- you control the businesses authorized to use your contact details
- manage your communication preferences (e-mail, SMS, post)
- you may terminate your relationship with any partner merchant or with Freedelity.
- you may refuse automatic updating at any time.
